Big personality, short legs, no limits.

The Walkin' Wheels Corgi wheelchair is shaped for the breed's long body and short legs, so your adorable little troublemaker can keep getting up to their usual mischief. Lightweight, durable aluminium and fully adjustable, it lets these big-hearted dogs stay right at the centre of the action. Designed for Pembroke and Cardigan Welsh Corgis from roughly 9-19kg (20-40lb), with the frame set by weight and the fit dialled in by rear leg height.

Rear support or full support?

A rear-support chair like this one is for dogs whose front end is still strong: they hold themselves up at the front while the chair does the work of weak or unsteady back legs. A full-support (quad) chair supports both ends, and is the better choice for dogs who are wobbly up front too, or living with a neurological condition. If your Corgi's front legs weaken later, a front-wheel attachment can convert the chair to full support; message us on WhatsApp and we'll confirm the right attachment for the Corgi frame.

Is a wheelchair right for my dog?

A wheelchair gives dogs back their favourite thing: moving under their own steam. Corgis are especially prone to IVDD and degenerative myelopathy because of their long backs, and owners also choose wheels for arthritis, hip dysplasia, recovery after surgery, or simply the wobbles of older age. A few honest notes: introduce the chair gradually and supervise early sessions, your dog should be able to hold their head up comfortably, and dogs who are weak at the front as well usually need full support rather than rear-only. It's a tool that works alongside your vet's advice, not instead of it. Unsure? Ask us or your vet first; we'd rather help you choose well than sell you the wrong chair.

Key Features

  • 🐾Shaped for Corgis - fits Pembroke and Cardigan Welsh Corgis, roughly 9-19kg (20-40lb)
  • 🐾Fully adjustable - height, length and width adjust for a precise fit
  • 🐾Lightweight, durable aluminium - easy for your dog to manoeuvre
  • 🐾Only two measurements needed - rear leg height and body length (armpit to rump)
  • 🐾Washable parts and great resale value - re-adjusts to fit another Corgi
  • 🐾Converts to full quad support - a front-wheel attachment can be added if your dog needs front support too. Available in blue.

How it works

The chair arrives sized to the option you pick, then fine-tunes with simple push buttons: height, length and width all adjust in seconds, no tools needed. Your dog's back legs rest in soft, washable leg rings while the frame carries their weight, so they power along with their strong front legs, low-slung and unstoppable as ever. When the adventure's over, the frame folds flat for the car boot, and every fabric part goes in the wash.

Size Guide

Measure the rear leg height to the toe pad with your dog lying down, leaving a natural bend in the leg. The options below are exactly what you'll see in the dropdown above; all three fit Corgis from 9 to 19kg (20 to 40lb).

Option at checkout Fits a rear leg height of
15-18cm (6-7") 15 to 18cm (6 to 7in), measured to the toe pad
20-28cm (8-11") 20 to 28cm (8 to 11in), measured to the toe pad
30-33cm (12-13") 30 to 33cm (12 to 13in), measured to the toe pad
One more measurement when you order: body length, armpit to rump. Measure along your dog's side from the crease behind the front leg (the armpit) straight back to the base of the tail, and pop it in the box above the Add to Cart button. Why we ask: we use it to pre-set your wheelchair's frame length before dispatch (especially important for long-bodied breeds), so it arrives ready to fit with minimal adjustment. Not sure how to measure? Message us on WhatsApp and we'll walk you through it.

Your questions, answered

Why a Corgi-specific wheelchair?

Corgis carry a long body on short legs, which standard frames don't always accommodate well. This chair is proportioned for exactly that shape, keeping the frame low and the support where it's needed.

Can my dog go to the toilet while in the wheelchair?

Yes. The chair is designed so wees and poos happen naturally without anything getting in the way, one of the first worries every owner has and one of the first things they stop thinking about.

How long can my dog stay in the wheelchair at a time?

Start with short, supervised sessions and build up gradually as your dog gains confidence and fitness, following your vet's guidance. The chair is for active time: take it off for rest and sleep.

Will my dog need it forever, or can it help them recover?

Both happen. With IVDD in particular, many dogs use wheels during recovery and rehab; for degenerative conditions it's a long-term mobility aid. Either way, staying active helps maintain muscle tone, circulation and happiness.

Can it be used indoors and outdoors?

Yes, both. The wheels roll happily on floors, pavements, grass and paths. Indoors, just supervise early sessions while your dog learns their new turning circle.

What if I measure wrong or it doesn't fit?

The frame adjusts across a generous range, so small measuring wobbles are usually absorbed by the push-button sizing. If something's not right, message us on WhatsApp with a photo and we'll sort the fit together, backed by our fair, transparent returns policy.

Can I upgrade to full support later?

Yes, a front-wheel attachment converts the chair to full quad support. Because the Corgi frame is a special shape, message us on WhatsApp first and we'll confirm exactly which attachment matches your chair.

How do I clean it?

All the fabric parts (leg rings, straps) are washable, and the aluminium frame wipes clean after muddy adventures.
