The Thule Cappy is built around a simple idea: if something goes wrong on the road, your dog should be as protected as anyone else in the car. Its integrated seatbelt loops anchor your pet securely to the rear seat, minimising forward movement in a sudden stop or collision - so you can focus on the road ahead, not on what might happen.
Getting your dog into a harness shouldn't be a battle. The Cappy's step-in design means no pulling anything over reluctant heads - your dog steps in, you clip up, and you're on your way. The size-adjustment straps are entirely separate from the opening and closing mechanism, so once you've set the fit, it stays set. The rear leash attachment means you can clip on a lead at pit stops without removing the harness, and breathable padded mesh panels keep your dog cool and comfortable whether you're crossing town or crossing the country. The smooth 100% recycled bluesign® PU-coated fabric wipes clean in seconds.

Sizing Guide
Measure your dog's neck and chest circumference and match them to the table below. If your dog falls between two sizes, size up for comfort. All three sizes available in Black.

Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Hand wash with mild soap if needed; hang to dry. Do not machine wash. For rear-seat use only with Type 2 (standard lap-and-shoulder) seatbelts. The rear seatbelt loops are the vehicle restraint point - do not use the leash attachment ring to secure your dog in the car. If the harness is involved in a vehicle accident, replace it immediately, even if no visible damage is present.

FAQs
How does the vehicle restraint work?
Your car's rear seatbelt passes through the integrated loops on the back of the harness, anchoring your dog to the seat and minimising forward movement in the event of sudden braking or a collision.
Will it fit my dog?
Measure your dog's neck and chest and match them to the sizing table above. The S suits dogs up to 11 kg, M up to 22.5 kg, and L up to 34 kg. If your dog falls between sizes, size up.
Can I attach a lead to it?
Yes - the Cappy has a rear leash attachment point for walks and pit stops. This ring is for lead use only and must not be used as the vehicle restraint point.
Is it compatible with my car?
The Cappy works with standard Type 2 seatbelts - the diagonal lap-and-shoulder belt found in most vehicles. It must be used in a rear seat only.
Does the harness need replacing after an accident?
Yes. If the harness is involved in any vehicle accident - even a minor one and even if no visible damage is present - it must be replaced. Like a cycle helmet, the structure may be compromised in ways that aren't visible to the eye.
What is bluesign® certification?
bluesign® is an independent certification for textiles manufactured to strict environmental, health and safety standards. The Cappy uses 100% recycled PU-coated fabric that meets this standard.
