More support for bigger days out together.
Bring your dog along for the trail, the viewpoint and the journey home. The K9 Sport Sack Kompanion adds carrying support, padding and practical storage for longer adventures, with regular rest breaks for your dog.
Built for your next adventure
- Support where it counts: lumbar support straps and a removable waist belt help distribute the load.
- Comfortable carrying: redesigned shoulder straps with triple-reinforced seams.
- Room to fit: increased girth accommodation and soft neoprene leg openings.
- Hydration-ready: a sleeve for a hydration bladder or cooling pad, plus a hose port and shoulder-strap routing.
- Organised for the outdoors: useful storage for walks and longer hikes.
Choose the correct size
Maximum dog weight: 18.1 kg (40 lb). This is the Kompanion model's capacity limit, subject to correct fit; it is not a weight-based size recommendation.
Check three things before choosing: weigh your dog; measure back length from the base of the collar to the base of the tail with your dog standing; and measure chest girth around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs. Use back length to choose your starting size, then check chest room and sitting height. Being below the weight limit does not guarantee a comfortable fit.
Between sizes or broad-chested? The manufacturer recommends sizing up where needed and using a suitable K9 Booster Block to achieve the correct sitting height. Ask us for help with your dog's back length, chest girth and weight before ordering if measurements fall between the ranges.
| Size | Dog back length | Fit note |
|---|---|---|
| XS/Small | Small: 33–41 cm (13–16 in) | For a back length of 23–30 cm (9–12 in), a suitable K9 Booster Block is needed to achieve the correct sitting height. Contact us before ordering so we can help you choose the right fit. |
| Medium | 43–48 cm (17–19 in) | Check chest girth and sitting height. |
| Large | 51–56 cm (20–22 in) | Check chest girth and sitting height. |
These are dog back-length measurements, not the dimensions of the backpack. Measure from collar to base of tail. The manufacturer publishes whole-inch ranges; for measurements in the gaps, broad chests or long legs, contact us with all three measurements before ordering. A booster block does not increase the maximum weight limit.
Watch: measuring and fitting your dog
Before your first outing
Build confidence with short practice sessions and follow the supplied fitting instructions. Check the safety attachments and sitting height before each outing. Take regular breaks: K9 Sport Sack recommends 30–45 minutes at a time. A heavier-duty pack does not remove the need for rest and a comfortable fit.
