Steady, comforting support for a sore hock, so they can keep moving with you.
The Balto Hock (BT Hock) supports the hock joint (the ankle of the back leg) when there's pain, lameness or difficulty moving. It stabilises the joint and takes some of the load off the injured area, which helps the ligaments work better, eases discomfort and can reduce swelling, all without stopping your dog from moving and flexing naturally. It's a great support after surgery, and a useful protective cover for plasters, bandages or pressure sores.
The brace can also be worn without the rigid splints for conditions like arthritis and arthrosis: the gentle compression boosts circulation and warmth around the hock, which helps soothe the ache.

Key Features
- 🐾Stabilises the hock - supports the joint and reduces load to help recovery and limit further strain
- 🐾Use with or without splints - rigid splints for post-surgery support, or compression-only for arthritis and arthrosis
- 🐾Soothing compression - improves circulation and warmth around the joint to ease pain
- 🐾Allows natural movement - keeps flexibility while supporting the ligaments
- 🐾Breathable fabric - comfortable to wear with an easy, adjustable Velcro fit
- 🐾Five sizes - removable splints, hand washable (remove the splints first)
Getting the size right
Most returns happen because of sizing, so please take three quick measurements with a soft tape (see the diagram below). Weight is only a starting guide - always confirm with the measurements.
Measurement A: circumference just above the hock.
Measurement B: circumference just below the hock.
Measurement C: the length between the points above and below the hock.
Then: choose the size where A, B and C all fit. If your measurements fall across two sizes, message us with all three and your dog's weight and we'll confirm the best fit.

Wearing it day to day
Wear the brace during the day, especially during activity, and remove it at night. During the settling-in period, try not to leave your dog alone for too long in case they try to remove it by biting or scratching. Always take the splints out before hand washing, and follow your vet's guidance when using the rigid splints.
